For Matcheme, participating in the NextGen Women Leaders Fellowship was a meaningful journey of self-discovery and growth. Over the course of the six-month program, she gained valuable insights that strengthened both her confidence and her leadership abilities.
Through the fellowship, Matcheme developed stronger communication skills, particularly in public speaking. She learned to express her ideas with clarity and confidence, discovering her voice as a leader. The program helped her recognize her potential and step more boldly into leadership within her community.
With the knowledge and skills gained, she has been able to actively lead initiatives and further develop her project, Women Resilience, Independence, Safety and Empowerment (WRISE). The fellowship equipped her with the tools and encouragement needed to transform her vision into action and expand her local impact.
Being part of a supportive network of women leaders reinforced her belief in collaboration, shared learning, and collective empowerment. The experience not only strengthened her personally but also empowered her to uplift other women around her.
